How Does Our Sober Living in Marietta Work?

There are a lot of questions and concerns that arise when evaluating sober living options, and it can feel overwhelming. Should you stay near home to be close to your job and/or family, or find a fresh start somewhere new? Will you need a higher level of care or outpatient treatment while you reside in a sober living home? Each individual situation is vastly different, and our experienced team can talk you through the pros and cons of your decision.

We offer high-quality men’s sober living and women’s sober living options in Marietta, a thriving city northwest of Atlanta. Residents are evaluated for placement and, if determined to be a fit, assigned a private room. Individuals stay busy by attending treatment during the day, and spend downtime with other sober, like-minded individuals in recovery. Our experienced team ensures that residents are kept on track and accountable with random drug and alcohol screenings, behavioral tech monitoring and location tracking services.

Our sober living is affiliated with North Atlanta Behavioral Health, a facility conveniently located nearby that offers a partial hospitalization program (PHP), intensive outpatient program (IOP), outpatient detox, and 90-day programs. Residents staying at our Marietta sober living housing must participate in treatment.

National and Georgia Addiction Statistics

Regardless of you or your loved one’s drug of choice, you are not alone in struggling with the disease of addiction. But if you don’t get help, you could become another statistic.

According to the NIH National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism,  there was a surge of alcohol-related deaths during the pandemic. The annual total number of deaths increased 25% between 2019 and 2020 (from 78,927 to 99,017), and then another 10% between 2020 and 2021 (from 99,017 to 108,791).

Statistics at the state and local level are just as alarming. According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, from 2019-2021, the total number of opioid-related deaths increased by 101%. This was driven mostly by fentanyl, a powerful synthetic opioid often found in drugs such as heroin, cocaine and counterfeit pills. Fentanyl-related drug overdose deaths increased 124% from 2019 to 2021.

More On Sober Living

Services We Offer

We offer additional helpful recovery services for sober living residents, including medication management, case management and recovery coaching. Here’s a closer look at what each service entails:

  • Medication management is the professional monitoring of the administration and results of someone taking psych meds. It is done by a psychotherapy professional who has been trained to lead individuals through the process of adjusting levels of meds until the desired outcome is reached. Medication management helps ensure that an individual isn’t overusing medication or, on the other end of the spectrum, not taking enough of their medication. At Creekside Recovery Residences,
  • Case management is  a critical component of the recovery journey as it can help individuals learn how to reenter life as a sober person (which can seem like a daunting task for many). Addiction case management services are not a replacement for counseling and therapy services but rather work in tandem with those outside resources to help ensure that each person’s recovery is as successful as possible. Each resident works with our master’s-degree level care manager who assists in the development of individualized, client-driven recovery treatment plans that are measurable and attainable.

Recovery coaching provides an extra layer of treatment for individuals – especially those lacking a strong support system – who need someone to walk beside them through their recovery process so they don’t feel alone. A recovery coach can provide support and advice to keep someone on the path of sobriety, especially early on.
